[This song is based around a passage from the Course where Jesus re-envisions a Gospel verse, in this case Matthew 22:14. The point being that the verse in the Gospels makes it sound a bit elitist, that somehow you must be a “chosen one” to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Of course, this was not the intention, but it still could be misinterpreted (and it has), so Jesus in the Course corrects the language to say that in fact we all are chosen, but not everyone chooses to return home right away, and that’s okay because they will eventually choose that, and time is an illusion anyway. Yet it is also true that only “few” will make it their calling in any given lifetime/generation to hear God’s voice, and this is not a judgment, just an observation!

On another note, I want to add that I had been playing with the “listen-silent-enlist” wordplay for years and it finally found its way into this song. Love it when that happens. : )]
